Custom Doggie Duds Home of The Dog Knit Sweater

Seven years ago I became interested in starting a small business. I began by knitting women's clothes and showing at craft fairs. I had a store front in a small mall for a short period of time.

I decided to change my business to knitting custom knit dog sweater coats as I love animals. I have two dogs; Chewie, a (Llhasa)and Liddy, a (Golden Retriever).  I had convinced my husband Jerry several years earlier that we needed to spend more time together knitting. Though hard for him (he's a lefty), I was able to teach him how to hand knit.

We design, knit and sell a variety of custom dog knit sweater coats. We have a knitting machine which Jerry uses to make the body of the sweater. I do all the finishing work such as leg sleeves, seams, snap covers, all custom design work such--- ruffles, bones, novelty yarn accents for sweaters, etc. For local customers, we go to their house and take the dog  measurements, "fittings" and play with their dogs.

Sweaters are very time consuming especially when you considered the size of the dog. Our specialty is Great Dane Knit wool coats and a plain sweater can take up to a week. I do all the design work on sweaters where the customer wants something really custom and original designer dress-up dog custom sweaters. We also make accessories including Great Dane knit accessories

We do make standard sized sweaters and accessories and sell them in our Doggie Duds Dogs Specialty Store. We enjoy our work, which is a labor of love, working with customers who truly love their pets and making a sweater that is very attractive, one of a kind, and will keep the dog warm.
