Why are sweaters necessary?

Why do doggies need a warm sweater for
being outside or going for a walk? Not all puppy dogs need dog sweaters. If they are thin napped or hairless, they need
sweaters like a custom
knit dog sweater coats. The dogs that do need sweaters are the small dogs like
Miniature Poodles, Scottish Terriers, all Miniature Dauchhunds, Minature Schnauzers, Minature Fox Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers,
Beagles, Chihahuas, Shih Tzu, Pugs as well as medium sized dogs - Rottwelers, Bulldogs, Dalmatians, Boxers, Air Dales. Large
dogs like Greyhounds and Great Danes also need coats. The list is not complete but will give you
an idea of the types of breeds that require dog sweaters in cold temperatures.

What type of sweater is best for colder climates?
The sweater should fit the dog over the back, neck, and leg holes. The sweater should be warm (preferably wool) and durable. Our
dog knit sweater is made from 100% wool and custom sized so that the sweater will fit your cutie. The fit should be comfortable, easy
on easy off and durable. You should consider additional protection if the temperature are cold. If you add dog accessories for smaller
dogs or Great Dane knit accessories like head warmer gear
such as the custom knit dog ear-hole hat or other hats such as a round hat to keep the dog's head warm
or long wooly sweats (leggings), which will protect the legs. Accessories such as hats, etc. are sometimes viewed as just dressing
up your dog and are unneccessory. However the real purpose of these accessories is to add additional protection from
the elements and keep the dog warm and comfortable in winter. The rule of thumb is if the temperature is freezing 32°
F you do need a dog sweater such as our custom knit dog sweater coats. Small dogs may need a sweater is at higher temperatures.
If the dog is shivering, shaking and showing other signs of being cold, the dog should have a sweater. If the temperature is
significantly lower than freezing your dog needs more protection with the sweater and still should not be left out in
the cold for an extended period of time. They will need dog sweaters even if they are just going out to relieve themself.
If the dog comes inside wet, you should remove the clothing immediately, towel dry the dog, and use a hair dryer to dry the
dog. A dog knit sweater should not be worn in the house unless
the temperatures are cold as the sweaters can cause the dog to over heat.
Great Danes need sweaters. The consequences of not
using a Great Dane custom knit sweater in cold weather is that the dog can develop hypothermia. While
extra large-dog coats are difficult to find locally, notice your dog shivering, lethargic during winter, and moving slowly
in the fall and winter you should definitely consider getting your dog a Dane sweater.
